This week I made the decision to join Rodan + Fields (and also to start a blog, which should be quite interesting in itself!).The skincare care products are designed by the makers of Proactiv Solutions (which I thank wholeheartedly for helping clear up my teenage breakouts). I’ve wanted to do a little something extra on the side for additional income but also as a way to give back and support others. For two summers straight, I took mission trips to Ethiopia, Africa to help love on orphans in the community of Korah. Korah is the poorest community in Ethiopia where most individuals make their livelihood by eating from the city trash dump. Many of the people who live in this community suffer from leprosy, are HIV positive, and many of the children are orphaned.

Since getting married, moving to a new city, and starting a new job, it’s not easy to get the time off to be able to take a trip myself, so I’m using my new business as a way to fund others by helping raise their money to make the trip (and hopefully be able to go back myself one day!). My uncle, Donnie Manis, leads a trip to Ethiopia every summer, and I hope to be able to support him and his team through this new business. 20% of my profits for the remaining of April and the month of May will go towards supporting the Visiting Orphans trip to Ethiopia on June 27^th-July 5^th.
